A Family Business Built on Hard Work
Our story began in 1967, when William (Bill) Corman co-founded Cottman Rental Corporation in Philadelphia. Originally renting U-Haul trailers and manufacturing truck caps under the name East Coast Caps, Bill’s commitment to quality and customer service quickly became the foundation of the business.
In 1985, after manufacturing and selling more than 13,000 caps, Bill began a long-standing relationship with ARE, a leading manufacturer of fiberglass and aluminum caps – a partnership that continues today. Shortly after that, he expanded the company’s focus to include outfitting commercial vans in addition to work and personal trucks.
In 1999, Bill’s son John joined the business, bringing new energy, updated product lines, and a renewed focus on serving the evolving needs of customers. That’s when we became Cottman Truck & Van Outfitters (CTVO).
